Flowing into Judicial Ditch No. 367 (JD 367), the drainage system for Martin County Ditch No. 29 (CD 29) was undersized, leading to downstream flooding, diminished water quality, and compromised agricultural productivity. Collaborating with several state and local agencies, ISG rerouted sections of JD 367 to conserve wetlands and enable maintenance access. Replacing century-old tile in CD 29 enhanced watershed productivity, while a 34-acre wetland complex stored water, improving water quality, wildlife habitat, and flood prevention. The analysis, permitting, and redesign of the undersized system increased the drainage coefficient, thereby enhancing downstream impacts and safeguarding farmland and water bodies.
