Due to its proximity to the downtown district, Riverside Park, and the La Crosse Center, 2nd Street serves thousands of vehicles per day and is used extensively by pedestrians and bicyclists. ISG led there construction efforts to improve connectivity and safety of this key corridor with services ranging from utility and field surveys to construction administration. Project improvements included pavement upgrades, colorful crosswalks, and brick paver terraces. To increase pedestrian safety, raised intersections were implemented, along with traffic-calming measures like bump-outs. A two-way cycle track was integrated into designs to connect the street to local trails. This roadway revitalization effort improves infrastructure and enhances the quality of life for La Crosse residents by fostering safer, more accessible, and vibrant urban spaces.
