Moves Up More Than 100 Spots on Coveted Engineering News-Record Top Design Firm List

ISG was recently recognized, again, as one of the country’s leading design firms by Engineering News-Record (ENR) magazine’s annual industry rankings moving up over 100 spots from last year, earning the position of #349. The Top 500 Design Firms list outlines the largest United States based design firms, both publicly and privately held, based on design-specific revenue. ISG, a firm that recently celebrated its 44th anniversary and transitioned to 100% employee ownership through a new ESOP structure, is one of only a handful of firms to experience such a significant advancement on the industry leading 2017 list.

“Since 2012, firm growth and revenues have exceeded projections due to strategic initiatives, market focus, recognizing opportunities, and one firm mentality,” states Lynn Bruns, ISG Executive Vice President. “Bundle that with an additional empowerment layer of having 100% of employees as owners, ISG’s success can truly be attributed to our intentional and entrepreneurial culture that is focused on being different.”

Through a 2016 acquisition, which is one of three strategic moves over the past five years, ISG now has eight offices in three states, as well as a considerable amount of work with clients outside of its Midwest footprint.

“It took us 42 years to make it onto the ENR Top 500 list, and it is definitely our goal to permanently reside there. We take pride in our rapid ascent from #488 to #452 and now #349, but it is more than that to us,” notes Chad Surprenant, ISG President + CEO. “Growth is a significant strategy for ISG, for we truly believe that our larger team provides us ever-increasing strength to serve our clients in greater depth, speed, and creativity,” states Chad.
