June 8, 2021 (La Crosse, Wisconsin) – Sue Peterson joins ISG as a K-12 Education Strategy Specialist to support school districts across the Midwest. She brings over 20 years of experience in referendum and strategic planning, community organizing, educational programming and charter school development, fundraising, marketing, and school communications. Collaborating with ISG’s multi-disciplinary team of planners, architects, and engineers across the ISG footprint, Sue will deliver educational insights that guide school district facility planning initiatives.

“Sue will make an immediate impact on the firm. She is familiar with ISG, our culture, and our clients and has a unique skillset to guide school systems from vision to action,” said ISG Senior Architect, Kevin Bills, AIA, who helps lead the firm’s Education business unit.

A champion of education and innovative learning environments, Sue is passionate about helping school districts plan for the future and guides them in making decisions in the best interest of their students and community. During her 14 years in K-12 education she was instrumental in developing key community and business partnerships to further enhance the learning experience and better leverage resources. In addition, Sue has an extensive background in grant writing and fundraising, helping schools win competitive federal, state, and local grants as well as leading multiple fundraising campaigns for both schools and community organizations.

Her pursuit for improving educational systems is rooted in her desire to build stronger communities, “My passion is working collaboratively with districts and communities to understand their strengths and areas of need. Only then can we develop a framework to respond with feasible, dynamic education solutions that engage students and support educators,” Sue said.

An active member of her community, Sue served as a board member for the City of Onalaska Parks and Recreation Department, City Planning Commission, and Police and Fire Commission. She also served on the Onalaska Enhancement Foundation, University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Self-Sufficiency Program, and Workforce Connections - YES AmeriCorps. In 2013 she was honored for her civic involvement with the YWCA Tribute to Outstanding Women award and in 2009 received the La Crosse Public Education Foundation Volunteer of the Year award.
