October 17, 2019 (Fargo, North Dakota) – As the 2019 football season nears it's end, the Fargo North Spartans have yet to play a true home game. The long awaited moment is finally here as the Spartans have been practicing on their new turf field all week long and the players know it's a luxury they've been missing.

"We were just practicing right across the parking lot over there, it was awful because we've had so much rain there has been puddles, muddy it's just been terrible." Said Spartans senior Blayne Anderson. "We're just so much more efficient now, practices have gone smoother. just a lot more excited too."

"Now it's nice we just have a smooth surface that is always consistent and you can get your footing. during the week, during practice so it's just a lot more consistent." Explained fellow senior Payton Fischer.

North has been waiting for the consistent surface since the plans were put into effect this past June and even the coaches are on the edge of their seat for game day.

"It's one of those things where the excitement level picked up" Said head coach Adam Roland. "At the point of the season where we were at we needed a little bit of excitement. To come out we've had excellent practices and the guys are responding well. and they just enjoy being out here."

Thursday's beautiful fall weather has been a far cry from the recent rain that has hindered the practice and playing facilities for North. However, with the new turf weather will not be a problem, which allows the Spartans to get down to business.

"First couple of days, were really excited and the excitement is still there." As senior Justin Millard put it. "We've got a little bit more use to it now figuring it out but it's still great to be out here."

Although the Spartans have struggled at home this season they look to change that as the final two regular season games will be played in the shiny new stadium.
